新世纪以来，中奥两国的文化交流更加宽阔地展开，交流的项目也更加丰富多彩，为两国人民提供了许多彼此欣赏对方伟大的文化遗产和今日文化创造成果的机会。
在中国文化部和奥地利联邦总理府的支持下，“奥地利建筑艺术展”将在中国美术馆举办，我由衷感到高兴并表示热烈地祝贺！
建筑是凝聚着人类文明和民族历史、反映了科技进步和文化创造的艺术。这次展览以奥地利近代建筑的演变为开端，集中展现了现代以来奥地利建筑的发展轨迹，也突出了一大批优秀建筑师的创造成果，内容相当丰富，文化内涵也相当丰富。
今日中国正处在建筑和都市化进程方兴未艾的时代，如何承传建筑文化的传统，不断创新，使建筑不仅满足社会发展和现实生活的实际需要，而且通过建筑艺术与建造技术的有机统一，成为人们的精神家园，是中国建筑界面临的课题，也是广大公众关注的问题。我相信，来自多瑙河畔的奥地利建筑艺术将会引动中奥两国建筑界的交流与对话，成为中奥两国文化交流新的篇章。

A growing number of cultural exchanges between China and Austria has been
launched since the beginning of the new century The wide variety of exchange
projects provides opportunities for the people of both countries to appreciate
the great heritage and the contemporary achievements of each other's
culture.
With the support of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and the Austrian Government, the “Austrian Architecture Exhibition” is being held in the Chinese Art Museum. This gives me great pleasure and I would like to welcome everyone and to express my warm congratulations to all concerned in this project.
Human civilization and the history of a nation are revealed in its buildings. Architecture also reflects the advance of technology and the state of the creative arts. This exhibition shows the beginnings of the evolution of modern Austrian architecture and focuses on its development. The exhibition has also highlighted the creative achievements of a number of outstanding architects. It is an exhibition rich in content and full of cultural significance.
Nowadays in China, construction and urbanization projects are on the rise. The question of how to be unceasingly innovative in architectural development -- providing new buildings which not only satisfy social development and everyday practical needs, but which also create a spiritual home for people through the unification of architecture and construction technology -- is an important issue for our construction industry and is also a subject of interest for the general public. l believe the architecture arising from the “banks of the Danube” in Austria creates a great opportunity for the construction industries of the two countries to communicate with each other and will usher in a new chapter in the history of cultural exchange between Austria and China.
