本次展览是对马来西亚艺术大师、教育先驱锺正山先生的致敬之作，由其子女为完成父亲心愿而精心筹备。锺正山先生虽生于南洋，却始终心怀故土，毕生致力于将中华文化精髓融入艺术创作与教育体系之中。

上世纪90年代，锺正山怀着对祖国的深厚情感回到中国，与两所中国高校共同开拓了"一校两制"的现代设计艺术教育模式。这一创举以极具前瞻性的视野，为中国设计艺术教育的现代化与国际化奠定了重要基础。

在艺术创作上，锺正山完成了一次从传统中国绘画向现代视觉语汇的优雅转型。他的作品在视觉形式上大胆融入了西方的构图与表现技法，呈现出丰富的现代感与国际面貌；与此同时，其作品的精神内核却始终坚如磐石，深深植根于东方哲学沃土。其笔下的山川、人物与意境，依然充满了中国传统文人的风骨与对“天人合一”境界的追求。

此次展览系统梳理了锺正山七十年艺术生涯各时期的代表作及教育文献，不仅是对其艺术成就的全面回顾，更是一场跨越时空的精神对话，展现了一位海外华人以艺术报国的赤子之心，以及通过融汇东西、贯通古今的探索，为中华文化的传承与创新作出的独特贡献。

 

This exhibition is a tribute to Mr. Chung Chen Sun, a master ink painting artist and art educational pioneer from Malaysia, meticulously prepared by his children to fulfill their father's wish. Although born Southeast Asia, Mr. Chung always held his ancestral homeland in his heart, devoting his life to integrating the essence of Chinese culture into both artistic creation and the art educational system.

In the 1990s, driven by his profound affection for his ancestral land, he returned to China and collaborated with two universities to pioneer a "One University, Two Systems" model for modern design art education. This groundbreaking initiative, with its forward-thinking vision, laid a crucial foundation for the modernization and internationalization of modern design art education in China.

In his artistic practice, Mr. Chung Chen Sun accomplished an elegant transition from traditional Chinese painting to a modern visual vocabulary. His works boldly incorporated Western composition and expressive techniques in their visual form, presenting a rich sense of modernity and an international character. However, the spiritual core of his work remained steadfast, deeply rooted in the fertile soil of Eastern philosophy. In the mountains, rivers, figures, and artistic conceptions depicted by his brush, one can still feel the unwavering spirit of the traditional Chinese literati and the pursuit of the ideal of "the unity of heaven and humanity."

This exhibition systematically presents representative works from various periods of Mr. Chung Chen Sun's seventy-year artistic career, along with educational documents. It is not only a comprehensive retrospective of his artistic achievements but also a spiritual dialogue across time and space. It showcases the heartfelt devotion of an overseas compatriot who served his ancestral homeland through art, and his unique contributions to the inheritance and innovation of Chinese culture through explorations that fuse East and West and connect the ancient with the modern.

锺正山，祖籍广东梅县，1935 年出生于英国海峡殖民地马六甲(现马来西亚马六甲)。他不仅是一位享誉国际的艺术创作者，也是一位具有理想与使命感的艺术教育家。锺氏师承陈文希、陈宗瑞、钟泗宾等，深耕水墨画数十年，曾任中国国家画院院委、中国艺术研究院特聘研究员。同时自 1967 年创办了马来西亚艺术学院起，锺氏先后在马来西亚和中国创办了五所艺术学院,对两地的现代艺术教育作出了重要贡献,被誉为“马来西亚现代艺术教育之父”及“马来西亚现代水墨画之父”。锺氏还是国际现代水墨画联盟的发起人和领导者，对推动传统中国绘画的现代化不遗余力，其艺术作成果的前瞻性被国际学术界所公认，对包括中国与马来西亚在内的东方艺术家具有借鉴和启发意义。

 

Chung Chen Sun, whose ancestral home is in Meixian, Guangdong, was born in 1935 in Malacca, British Straits Settlements (now Malacca, Malaysia) . He is not only an internationally renowned artist but also an art educator with ideals and a sense of mission. He studied under renowned artists such as Chen Wenxi, Chen Zongrui, and Zhong Sibin，having delved into ink wash painting for decades, served as a member of the National Academy of Painting of China and a specially-appointed researcher at the Chinese National Academy of Arts.Since founding the Malaysian Institute of Art in 1967, he has established five art colleges in Malaysia and China, making significant contributions to modern art education in both countries and earning the titles of "Father of Modern Art Education in Malaysia" and "Father of Modern Ink Painting in Malaysia". He is also the initiator and leader of the International Modern Ink Painting Association, and has spared no effort in promoting the modernization of traditional Chinese painting. His artistic achievements are recognized for their forward-looking nature by the international academic community and have provided inspiration and guidance for artists in the East, including those in China and Malaysia.
